The idea came from a simple frustration. Most online converters require you to upload your files, wait for server-side processing, and then download the result. That means your images pass through someone else's infrastructure, and you have no real guarantee of what happens to them afterward. For anyone working with sensitive photos, client assets, or personal images, that is an unnecessary risk.
PixFlip works differently. Every conversion happens directly in your browser using the Canvas API built into modern web engines. Your files never leave your device. There is no upload step, no server queue, and no temporary storage on our end. When you close the tab, the data is gone.
The project is maintained by an indie developer who believes useful tools do not need to harvest data or hide behind subscription paywalls. PixFlip is free to use with no account required.
